Background

This is a disturbing story of how a Hampshire Constabulary destroyed my wife and I . Irreperable damage was caused to our health and reputations with malicious operations and arrests culminating in a miscarriage of justice.

Chief Officers, agencies such as the HMIC, CPS and the IPCC could have prevented the malicious and unlawful conduct of Hampshire Constabulary but failed to do so.

Having made disclosures to the Professional Standards Department of Hampshire Constabulary, rather than being protected, a campaign of victimisation and intimidation towards us seriously affected our health, we did not stand a chance and were effectively thrown to the wolves.

Whilst there has been recent publicity concerning criminal cases being dropped due to a failure with regards to disclosure, you will hear of similar conduct by Hampshire PSD which went much further including illegal seizure of documents, theft of evidence, altering of witness statements and concealment of crucial policy files in a police operation code named "Companionway".

You will also hear of how the conduct of PSD resulted in a family business having to close with the loss of 20 jobs and our subsequent bankruptcy requiring us to start from scratch again. Additionally we were effectively forced out of two counties due to the harassment of Hampshire PSD.

The present Chief Constable Olivia Pinkney and Michael Lane PCC have been given the opportunity to rectify matters including to those victims of crime who I had tried to help resulting in victimisation from the force.

I was previously a Detective Sergeant in the Metropolitan Police and my wife was a nurse. I was experienced in a number of areas and received several commendations. The type of work I was experienced in was relevant to my disclosures and I will go into each topic in a little more detail in separate posts relevant to that area of crime.

It was during the  last third of my police service that I transferred to Hampshire Constabulary, it became apparent that there was an endemic culture of fear and bullying.

Corruption and cover up appeared to be standard practice with those acquiescing being rewarded in various ways and being protected from prosecution and/or disiciplinary proceedings.

The Professional Standards Department were corrupt and despite making serious allegations of perverting the course of justice, no cases were sent to the CPS but dealt with internally where the highest sanction given was "Management Advice" against a DCI within PSD.

One of the most serious allegations I made concerns police corruption in a Paedophilia case on the Isle of Wight, the officer suspected of covering up this matter at the time was a DCI in PSD who was investigated  by his immediate superviser a Detective Superintendent which; resulted in a further cover up and further victimisation.

It is my view that PSDs should now be disbanded, there have been many concerns raised, the most recent in Greater Manchester police highlighting corruption and the lack of accountability of these departments.

The victimisation has been going on for 15 years and ongoing with legal proceedings however; I will begin a series of chapters relating to matters for which I have refused to sign a confidentiality agreement.

For officers intending to go down the same route I would recommend reading my page Shooting the messenger and also following each of my posts where I may suggest in hindsight what I may have done differently.

No one embarking on a similar course of action escapes unscathed, I was made ill as were many others and sometimes relied on professionals due to our illness when perhaps we should have gone with our gut instinct.
